Ever Heard the Fairytale of the Pied Piper of Hameln?

Did you ever get that feeling as a parent when you hit ‘autopilot’ mode as you turn yet another page of a nursery rhyme/fairytale? So what about the Pied Piper of Hameln….
Libby loves here ‘Pipity Case‘ (see above picture) and it has already proved so useful, as she can take it with her and draw, record or write about it at the time. Capturing that learning at the exact time of learning does seem to be making a real difference with both girls. But Lottie’s ‘Jofli Bear‘ (see picture above) is of no less importance. It’s a great travel journal to record some of their magical adventures… and a teddy to cuddle at night too!
Every region should have Something special
So if you’re ever heading eastwards from Cologne to Berlin, be sure to try and make a stop at Hameln… Lonely Planet mention it as one of the Top 5 German Small Towns and it’s easy to see why. It has some stunning architecture that reminded us a little of a wonderful Autumn day in the Alsace at Kaysersberg. But with a touch of magic as we followed the mice trail across the entire town… these small bronze mice are everywhere and really captured the girls imagination. Much like the Chateau des Èngimes had done in France earlier this year too.
There’s plenty to see in this quaint town in Lower Saxony and we’ll be delighted to add this to our growing collection of 100+ Educational Opportunities across Europe – all easily accessed via this link here. With time running out before we raced eastwards towards Berlin, we stopped to let the girls enjoy some of the delicious sweet creations at one of the local bakeries, before eating them on the banks of the River Weser….
