Soaked in Strasbourg, yet it didn’t take the shine off this amazing EU city

A cultural feast….. alongside the crepes of course!!!

It proved to be a fantastic day for each of us, giving us all a chance to stretch our legs (racking up the Fitbit miles!) and see some of the old and new city. Little did we know the true extent of a city that has been annexed numerous times dating back many year before the Germans took over in the WWII.

The city is now seen as the new capital of Europe and rightly so with it’s EU parliament with a hemisphere of over 900 seats to encompass all of the EU states, alongside the Court of European Human Rights… in themselves wonders of both architecture and design.

But the good old folk of Strasbourg clearly knew there way around architecture as some of the german/french synergy was in full evidence in the Petit France… the feeling of being in two countries simultaneously was certainly interesting… We could go on… amazing public transport (esp the trams), brilliant canals that conjure images of Venice or Amsterdam…. a truly cosmopolitan city that inspired us to visit again!!
