From 'Horrible Histories' to 'Horrible Beasties' to 'Horrible Hills' - its been a busy weekend for us and the kids.
It all started with a bang (literally) as we spent a few days down South learning about energy sources and power. From building hovercrafts to rubber band helicopters, it was great to see the girls learning with both sets of grandparents. Both girls now have a new sewing machine so new curtains for the van are imminent!!
After seeing their cousin's new house we headed back North to Stamford to enjoy the Georgian Festival. With a wonderfully quick show from Horrible Histories to walk us through Britain's 'Happy History' to the bull running in Broad Street - it certainly should be different in Pamplona later this year!
The weekend finished with a fantastic bike ride with the extended family around Rutland Water, beautiful weather and scenery... it seemed a shame to finish at the end.
So the time has finally come.... Years of yearning followed by a single month of planning...... An inverse relationship if ever there was one.
So how did it start?
"If ever there was a time it's now.." A quote from a special person resonated... Were we moving forwards as a family or simply stuck in the inevitable rut created by a 9-5 existence. Could there be something else? Something we simply couldn't let our children miss out on.
After the 451st visit to the motorhome dealership (slight hyperbole) over a 6 year period, it was finally time to do the unthinkable.... We purchased!!!
