With a little time on our hands as we enjoy a restful day in the Arcachon basin ... we've struck 'gold' with our little aire at 'La Coccinelle'. A truly brilliant aire that just reinforces how enjoyable family motorhoming can be if you get the right site. It has morning bread/croissants, free wifi, safety barriers and you can even hire electric cars for the day... not to mention its on a series of bike routes across the beautiful peninsula... or the truly brilliant location for kids... with Aqualand on the doorstep alongside numerous other children's play parks (all over some 30+ hectares).
So we've sat down and finished two ongoing projects... firstly a 'Who are We?' video about not just us but the parts of Europe we've seen so far.... and secondly, a 'Lifeinourvan's Favourites'.. a chance for each of us to say where has really inspired us across this amazing family adventure...
Hopefully, we'll get across to Dune du Pilat tomorrow... and grab the chance to body board the 'highest sand dune' in Europe...
Sun's out, a decent Talmondais white in the fridge, kids playing with French kids outside... we really are truly lucky!!!
200th Blog Post - Visiting one of France’s ‘Les Plus Beaux Villages de France’ - Talmont sur Gironde
This ‘Taste of France’ adventure should last 5 weeks until mid August before returning briefly to the UK to exchange sets of grandparents before setting off again in early September for a month trying to cover the rest of France…. phew! it should be an epic summer in France…
Transferring to the quieter back roads, we headed west towards the wonderful port of Rouen. Straddling the Seine it is very much the capital of Northern France and a crucially important city since Roman times. Famous for its wonderful cathedral and cobble roads it is perhaps better know for the burning of Joan of Arc. Both girls were in awe of this story and it again reminded us of the Nobel Peace Centre and the importance of ‘speaking out’ if you strongly believe in something (just like Malala did)
Reconnecting with Good Friends....
(with both girls) to detail these learning opportunities on our website in the 'Educational Explorer's' section. In the hope that some of the ideas from our homeschooling linked to our family experiences around Europe might offer some inspiration for others considering taking the plunge too....
