Score 82%

If you’ve stayed Camp SudSee, a large resort-style campsite in Northern Germany, you’ll know it’s set in a spectacular lakeside setting with direct access to its own high ropes, pony trekking and indoor sub-tropical water park. It’s a special Leading Campings campsite gem not to be missed….

If you’re an active family who wants to visit some of Europe’s most unmissable campsites? Perhaps this article below will help……Our kids beam with delight when we tell them we’re heading for another of these Leading Campings sites, so I wonder if your family will feel the same…..Just imagine holidays spent jumping into the white sand fringed lake for yet another splash around with the kids….. or evenings enjoying the numerous onsite activities/shows on offer for all ages.  All this in an idyllic setting amongst heathland, pine forests and spring flowers….. the perfect recipe for some rest and relaxation!!
Situated to the north of Germany in an area known as Lower Saxony (45mins south of Hamburg, 3hrs west of Berlin), Camp SudSee is well located amongst the natural heathland beauty of the Lüneburg Heath. For visitors seeking a large resort style campsite… this is a great example of what you can squeeze into 90 football fields worth of ‘lakeside reort’. It’s pretty easy to explore further afield too.
The unique ‘Upside Down House’ at Bispingen or Head-Park Soltau theme park are within touching distance by car/motorhome (with organised excursions also offered by the campsite to plenty of places in season). Whilst those seeking wildlife might head for Weltvogelpark Walsrode or the Wildpark Lüneburger Heide… Or for those looking for nature, just grab the bikes and head out on the cycle paths from the campsite. Covered in pine forest, they’re full of fragrant trails and paths to explore (there’s even a BMX bike course to enjoy too onsite)

But for those that choose to spend their time inside the ‘Leading Campings‘ resort style complex at Camp SudSee, you’ll not be disappointed by what you find… so we thought we’d try and distil it down into three reasons why we’d happily return here next summer.

Every campsite should have Something special

We’ve been fortunate to see some of Europe’s best campsites over the past 2 years, and each have had something to remember them by. For instance, Tiroler Zugspitze’s Cable Car or Camping Krk Resort’s ‘infinity pool’ takes some beating…. not to mention Aufenfeld’s panoramic ‘natural alpine lake’ …. But for Camp SudSee, you have to look no further than the palm fringed sub tropical water park paradise… an area that wraps itself around the vast array of pools/slides/jacuzzis…. whilst also growing bananas and colourful tropical plants... It’s a place that kids and adults will love  as we comfortably stayed for well over 4hrs on a full day ticket…. (NB There is a small cost for entry unless you opt for an all-inclusive package)

(Sadly, we couldn’t grab any footage in the tropical pool… but check out this link here to see inside the tropical water park – click here)
