Motorhoming in England | Family Biking Fun on the Dunstable Downs

Both girls love any opportunity to get on a bike, so as the Dunstable Downs is the highest point in the East of England (797ft), we loved discovering one of the best- known viewpoints on the picturesque Chilterns ridge.

It’s easy to enjoy the amazing sights around Europe during this trip, but our John O’Groats to Lands End leg of this trip also reminded us of the equally beautiful countries in the United Kingdom…So with time to spare on our return back to the UK before our return to France, we’ve spent some time back in North Yorkshirebefore venturing out to see both girl’s godparents…

So where better for a new bike adventure to add to our growing collection… this time with Uncle Colin/Aunty Fiona

Both girls love any opportunity to get on a bike, so as the Dunstable Downs is the highest point in the East of England (797ft), we loved discovering one of the best- known viewpoints on the picturesque Chilterns ridge. The Downs are set within the Chilterns Area (near NW London) and are certainly worthy of the title of ‘an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. The chalk ridge was full of families having fun – flying kites, paragliding, gliding or just enjoying a family picnic.
The whole area has an abundance of cycle routes to match the sweeping views of the landscape and stunning late summer flora &  fauna..Our choice was the Dunstable ‘ridgeway’ route and an opportunity to spend some quality time meeting up with old friends…

A brilliant ‘family friendly’ ride for all ages and abilities..

so where did we park the bus for the night?

We found plenty of wild camping spots nearby, but we’ve headed via relatives northwards…. so no tips this time… but we’ll be back next summer to try our hands at kite flying!!

Whoa! This blog looks exactly like my old one! It’s on a totally different subject but it has pretty much the same layout and design. Great choice of colors!
