Motorhoming in Croatia | Heading South from Camping Šimuni to Zaton Holiday Resort

Ever felt like it’s time to hit the open road in your motorhome? What’s your favourite scenic drive in Europe? Here’s a few of ours ( click here ) But we reckon you could pick pretty much any coastal drive in Croatia and be satisfied.

It may not be an alpine pass where you see the whiteness creeping into your knuckles on each vertiginous hairpin bend… but those coastal landscapes are sensational! So here’s a few pictures from our journey south from Camping Šimuni to the Leading Camping’s site of Zaton Holiday Resort.
If you’ve missed our earlier ‘dashcam‘ video from the larger island of Krk to the comparatively smaller Pag (but no less beautiful an island!)… then you’ll find it at the top of the page. Hopefully, it’ll give you a ‘taster’ of what can be found whilst taking a motorhome along the Dalmatian Coastline.
People often focus on the lower area of the Dalmatian Coastline as it boasts towns like Dubrovnik, Split, Hvar, Korčula, Trogir… A journey taking you back in time to the empires of the  Venetians or Ottomans and a time for pirates and adventurous sailors.
But once you experience the clear waters and picturesque islands of Pag or Krk combined with the abundant local culture in each. Perhaps you’ll fall in love with this region as much as we have… but as for us, now we move onto Zadar (recent winner of Europe’s Top Tourist Destination in 2016) and home to the amazing Kornati Islands and the famous sea organs!

so where did we park the bus for the night?
