Reason one
Split has lots to offer in terms of attractions and places of interest, but it also provides a relaxed lifestyle of coastal beauty and amazing historic architecture. It’s as vibrant a city as Berlin or London in our humble opinion and perfect for kids!
Reason two
Ok, for those that have never been….. add it to your list! You’re gonna love it! For those that have been, you’ll know that Split has a city centre unlike any other in Europe…Built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Imperial Palace… it’s not quite as majestic now as it would have been then… but it’s got an amazing, electric atmosphere… the whole city centre literally hums with excitement due to the 3,000 residents who still live and work inside the ruined palace…
Still not convinced? Here’s another one:
Reason three
It’s a fantastic area to explore too, just take a peek around the harbour to grab views of the palace you’ll remember forever!!… but if you have kids, take them to the Fruit and Fish Market, but just be warned, you’ll have to prise them away from the delicious yet inexpensive food on offer inside… Plus if you have active kids then why not take them rock climbing or sea kayaking like we did!!!
