LifeinourVan City Reviews | Rome | Italy

What we liked about it

here’s just a few ideas….

Reason one

As Italy’s capital city, Rome has lots to offer in terms of attractions and places of interest, but nothing really prepares you for the sheer beauty and vibrancy of this city… Amazing art and architecture and a city that is so alive you can almost feel the heartbeat….. in our humble opinion it’s utterly perfect for kids and in our Top 3 favourite cities across Europe!

Reason two

The city is packed in high season, so best to try and visit in the shoulder season… you might even be able to be the infamous queues for the Vatican that way!!. But for us the unmissable places include the Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Vatican, City Open Bus tour, Pantheon, Piazza Navona and the Roman Forum Still not convinced? Here’s another one:

Reason three

It’s a fantastic city to explore too, just take a peek around the historic centre for views you’ll remember forever!!… but if you have kids, there’s plenty of great iPhone based tours you can enjoy to help bring the city even more alive!!

Where we stayed

As this was before the days of ‘Lifeinourvan’…. in fact it probably prompted the whole trip but that’s another story!!!

But we stayed at the uber chic Hotel Adriano close to the Vatican and all the major sites. A fantastic place to base yourself before you head into arguably one of the most ‘historic’ cities in Europe.
