LifeinourVan City Reviews | Amsterdam | Holland

in Holland

What we liked about it

here’s just a few ideas….

Reason one

As Holland’s capital city, Amsterdam has lots to offer in terms of attractions and places of interest, but it also provides a relaxed lifestyle of canal side boutiques and amazing art and architecture. It’s as vibrant a city as Berlin or London in our humble opinion and utterly perfect for kids!

Reason two

The city really discounts it’s prices in the shoulder season… so grab a bargain like us before the season starts. But for us the unmissable places include the Rijksmuseum, Anne Frank House, Canal Tour, Nemo Science Centre and the modern art museum Stedelijk

Still not convinced? Here’s another one:

Reason three

It’s a fantastic area to explore too, just take a peek around the canals to grab views of the Amsterdam you’ll remember forever!!… but if you have kids, take them to the VondelPark area, but just be warned, you’ll have to prise them away from this part of the city centre..

Where we stayed

As this was before the days of ‘Lifeinourvan’…. in fact it probably prompted the whole trip but that’s another story!!!

But we stayed at the uber cool ‘Amsterdam Art’ West Cord hotel just outside the main city centre in WesterPark. A fantastic way to showcase art to your kids before you head into arguably one of the most ‘artsy’ cities across Europe.
