If you’ve stayed at this large resort-style campsite non the south coast of France, you’ll know it’s in a great coastal setting with direct access to its own sandy beach. Making it a great family campsite….

Whether you’re seeking a little tranquility, nature, comfort or an ideal spot for your family and your children… this place has something to offer you all… Located beside the Mediterranean in pine and palm trees, Le Brasilia boasts an extraordinarily mild climate (it was 25°C in mid September!) and a crystal clear, blue sea that seems to draw you into spending a fun day beside the beach….

Amooth arrival is just what you need on arrival. But before you find the beach, the first feeling that hits you as reach the campsite in Canet-en-Roussillon is how impressively slick the check in process is…..which makes all the difference after a long drive to the south of France. Helped by having a flat, easily accessible site, each pitch is well marked out and spacious and there just seem to be a feeling of safety across the entire site. So crucial when visiting with young children!

Information, Information, Information… you just can’t beat enough of it when travelling with kids.. Making sure each second counts on a holiday here. So after arrival, you’ll find plenty of places to get further campsite information on both the animation programme, evening entertainment and any excursions the campsite is running to local sights. But perhaps the best place to find any information is in the highly informative booklet you’re given when checking in…. Literally having everything you could possibly need to know during your stay!

Every campsite should have Something special

As one of the founding members of the Yelloh Village group, you’d expect it be one of the best in France. So it’s no surprise that the relatively new Aqua Park (L’Archipel) offers a fantastic centre piece to the 5* campsite… full of lagoon style pools that will suit all ages. There’s a variety of slides that will keep young children entertained whilst small toddlers will love their large heated play pool… Real swimmers can find their own pool for some exercise (or try aquabiking!) whilst there’s plenty of space and loungers to find your own space to relax.

Although we didn’t visit it, the Papillon Spa looks an impressive building from the outside and perhaps even more interesting on the inside…it includes jacuzzi, steam rooms, treatment rooms but for our girls… there’s one only one place they wanted to spend their time… the beach!!

Forgot something? Don’t worry the facilities are fantastic

If you’ve got active children like ours (remember our Padel experience in Playa Montroig) and wonder if there will be enough to entertain them? Fear not, as there are plenty of superb sport facilities including the Agora Square (multi sport), Beach Volleyball, Tennis Court and Fitness suite….

As for the facilities…. yet again the campsite seems to get it right. Imagine authentic Catalan styled washrooms in attractive ochre colours… Inside, the authentic look disguises the modern and well kept shower block, washroom facilities.

The attention to detail continues inside with ‘children only’ areas for showering/toilets etc which are bright and breezy and certainly look the part… But this is only one of the many specific aspects that impress… For dog lovers, there are ‘dog showers’ and large beach side areas just for dog walking… or for those with limited mobility, there are amphibious ‘Tiralo’ wheelchairs to access the beach and sea.

For those with youngsters who need to ’empty their tanks’ then you’ll love the various playgrounds that are dotted around the site. Although they are well maintained and colourful, they are probably for Under 11 and perhaps more suited to toddlers.

Apparently over 91.6% of guests leave satisfied and we can certainly see why that’s the case… from small touches like the efforts for motorhomers travelling with dogs to the hugely useful presence of the campsite hub at ‘Le Cube’…

It’s a site bristling with well thought out layouts, great information and attentive staff… what more could you ask for… it’s no surprise it’s another of Europe’s Leading Campings.
