Grabbing a family bike adventure across Ile de Re

For those that love a decent bike ride, then you’ve picked the right place if you come to Ile de Re in France…Granted it’s got no hills to race down like Flam, or the stunning hill top scenery of Bahira… but what it lacks there, it more than makes up for elsewhere…

Its access to cycle paths is truly brilliant, there are chic white towns to immerse yourself in whilst enroute… the weather is always good (hence the name!) and the coastlines are almost Caribbean in their appearance (crystal clear water, white sand and bronzed bodies everywhere)
There really is no better way to see Ile de Re than by bike… and as you’ll be one of the very many doing so if you visit… you’ll not stand out at all… so get involved, throw on one of the local hats and grab a bike and enjoy a leisurely day on Ile de Re! It’s a great way to introduce kids to cycling and ours still love coming back and discovering new beaches, towns and bike tracks…

so where did we park the bus for the night?

For those heading onto Ile de Re in a motorhome, it’s worth checking out both of these aires in Saint Clement des Baleines(Rue de la Foret) & our preferred one nearer to the bridge at Le Bois-Plage en Re (Av du Pas de Boeufs)
