Friends Reunited….. it’s been a busy week! – Part 1

For those closely following our journey, you’ll probably be used to our blog focusing on our travel ideas, family adventures and educational treasure hunts across Europe… but this post is all about the value of true friends.. We’ve been blown away by everyone’s kindness this week as we’ve criss-crossed across England meeting up with friends, godparents and cousins…

Add in a chance to take the wheel during harvesting, a collective effort at improving our website and some quality time with two amazing people, we loved ever minutes our stay near Romsey!! Both girl’s favourite memory was certainly the opportunity to spend time surfing down the recently filled grain stores. Whilst Catherine loved the opportunity to complete our first bakery blog with a new company we’re enjoying working with (SweetPea Pantry).

Our ‘Friends Reunited’ week… began in Hampshire with an act of true kindness as Louisa & Alex hosted us on their farm near Romsey… their generosity even extended to looking after the girls for an evening so Catherine and I could enjoy a meal out together… After 300+ days living in a motorhome, this was a special evening and one that just showed how lucky we are to have such good friends

We love their healthy yet fun approach to food and will be trying out a few of their recipes across Year 2 of our European Adventure!!!! (Yep.. it continues into 2016/17… the fun bus rolls on!)

Heading east, we stayed with the girls cousins after a super late nighttime drive before grabbing the chance to reconnect with two special friends at Dunstable Downs… Taking a wonderful early evening bike ride across the amazing Chilterns Hills… these guys are special people who always put a smile on both girls faces… and both girls are still inspired by their epic bike ride from ‘John O Groats to Lands End’ last year to raise money for a special charity close to Fiona’s heart.

(if you can spare the time, a quick read of their links would really raise awareness of the great work the centre currently does)
