Exquisite Segovia…

Hot chocolate opened the day for the girls…. brrrr it was chilly!!!!! Up t’North!!!

After a very prolonged rest, much needed by the driver!, we started out towards Segovia at lunchtime…. We arrived at the Plaza del Torros after 2pm and immediately head out on bikes… it was a great feeling to get out again on the bikes and all of us enjoyed the freshness in the air!!! Although jeans and jackets were the order of the day!

Segovia opens up after the stunning aquaduct and is really a hillside fort with a stunning cathedral and fairytale castle within the walls!!! The views from the top of the Alcazar were jaw dropping – with snow capped mountains and golden sunshine on the towers of the cathedral!

The day finished with a great sunset and early evening bike ride back with well-lit churches at every turn…. then back into the van for the 1hr drive back to Escoril! And a date with Strictly Come Dancing….

So as this is written, all of the girls (women) are tucked up in bed watching Helen George nail tonight’s show!!!

A quick bedtime awaits….. then Madrid via train in the morning… :)!
