Easter Day in Catania | Amongst the lava pools underneath Mt Etna

A special day with the family…. started with an Easter Egg hunt in the Adria motorhome… who’d have thought we could have allowed entry to the Easter Bunny without the girls noticing….But as ever if you want to find out more about Motorhoming Adventures in Sicily….. just jump on in to find out plenty of tips, advice and first hand experiences

So imagine holidays spent jumping into the Ioanian Sea l for yet another splash around with the kids near the lava pools or evenings enjoying the stunning sunsets over Mt Etna and it’s surrounding coastline. Or even a lazy breakfast on the rocks overlooking the Ionian Sea before watching the kayakers, scuba divers and fishermen enjoy the day too… Just sheer bliss!
Situated on the Sicilian coastline close to the interesting city of Catania, Camping El Jonio is well located to explore further afield too. Agrigento, Taormina or even Messina are within touching distance by car/motorhome (with organised excursions also offered by the campsite). Whilst those seeking nature might head for Mt Etna, a natural park with an active volcano to hike up to. Full of fragrant trails and paths to a snow covered cinder cone tip
As for us, we’ve managed all of those so it was a day beside the lava pools. Scrambling the rocks and exploring some amazing little coves, although with hindsight, perhaps we ought to have changed into the right type of footwear!!! (judgement error!!)

it’s just been an awesome family focused day, with our now customary 30mins with each girls to finish the day…. just on whatever they choose… its wonderful to see how inventive they are when they get 1 on 1 time with you… Definitely the best bit of the adventure for us!!!
