Dubrovnik to Trogir via the coastal route… off to meet fellow bloggers ‘OurTour’

As we sadly departed Dubrovnik, we wanted one last look at the many ships in this beautiful town’s harbour… perhaps none more beautiful than the old galleon used for island tours… its been a true pleasure to have spent so much time in Dubrovnik, yet we sense it was only the beginning of a recurring series of visits!!

With the coastal road full of shiny, new Mercedes courtesy of the Global Mercedes Experience that has consumed part of Dubrovnik,,,much like both Star Wars and Game of Thrones previously… I can think of worse places to open the throttle of a shiny new SLK/CLK!!!

Up through the hills bedecked with spring colour, allowing even more special views of the crystal clear sea and it’s many coves and pebble lined beaches…

Onwards past Trsteno Arboretum and it’s oriental gardens used in the Game of Thrones… a truly beautiful place to spend an hour walking through dappled sunshine gazing at the myriad of different tress – all shapes, sizes and colours..

Pausing briefly to see the wonders of Ston, perhaps one of Croatia’s best kept secrets… the longest fortified wall in Europe, 2nd longest in the world behind the Great Wall of China… Easily viewable from the E65 / 8, as it snakes its way lazily along the coastline. Glittering azure blue seas separating the multitude of archipelago islands from the mainland.

Our lunchtime destination finally came into view at 3pm!! Grades!!! Perhaps not in the top 10 best beaches in Croatia but good enough for us!!! Time to enjoy a dip in the water and feed the fish… a truly memorable hour of family fun!

With Trogir still 100km away, we headed under the towering hills via the wonderful tunnel after Makarska and onto the motorway (A1) to Trogir and Camping Rozac…

Arriving to news of dolphins in the bay, a chance to say hello to Julie/Jay from ‘OurTour’ and a dazzling beachfront location… we headed for an early bed… much to do tomorrow!!!!
