Culloden Moor – A brilliant piece of Scottish History at first hand….

Brilliant day!!!!

Loved visiting the atmospheric Culloden Moor today, we had worked hard with the girls beforehand with an excellent book that we got from Loch Ness (on Scottish history). Really informative, but easy to work through…. well the girls loved it!! So much that they were desperate to see where the Jacobites and English fought in 1746… It was the best history lesson of the trip, and hopefully will prompt more… both girls were so involved! Perfect!!

There back into the van for some soup and warm rolls!! I just love that ability to cook and eat in comfort whilst on a day out! Fantastic!!! Some shortbread to finish!! and a large, large cup of coffee!!

Following this we headed south to reconnect with the Cairngorms…. an area we visited with Tizzy in October 2014… It was as good as ever and we thoroughly enjoyed the views before shooting north to Grantown on Spey. Great Caravan Club site that is so well situated with views of the Cairngorms, but is very, very well maintained!! A real cracker and well worth a visit….

Bike rides and a castle tomorrow (Braemar)… oops I promised Lottie some shopping in Aviemore’s outdoor stores tomorrow!!
