Want panoramic views over Bergen? Try the Ulriken Cable Car…

The best views of Bergen are seen from the top of the Ulriken . The Cable Car takes you to the summit in under 15 minutes and the cable car’s panoramic windows ensure you don’t miss anything. It’s a hidden Norwegian gem at the very top not to be missed…. stunning walks, playgrounds and even a chance to walk the trail down if you’re feeling energetic…
Compelling views!!!! Great Staff on hand from bus to the top of the mountain!!! Well priced!!
We’d certainly visit again!!! The quality of the views was utterly magnificent and hopefully the photography does them some justice (I’ll leave you to the judge of that! – see below))
The Ulriken Cable Car clearly enjoys the most spectacular views in Bergen, as it sits high above the skyline overlooking not only Bergen, but all the fjords south towards Stavanger. The breath taking scenery is matched by the highland nature/hikes at the top, and also the amazing playground and zip wire (not working today otherwise we’d have been on it!!!)
The saying’ all sorrow will leave you at the mountain top’ is strangely true, it had a calming influence that wafted across the many people enjoying the views at the top… sadly it didn’t pass onto the girls who literally ran onto the newly built wooden playground to have fun…
This continued after we decided that it was rude not to enjoy this wonderful setting as we set off for a few hours of hiking across the top of Mount Ulriken.. through glades of heather with crystal clear lakes, and over snow covered crags… it was brilliant!! (no other words needed)
The best hike follows the ridge all the way over to Mount Fløien. Takes about 5-6hours and requires good equipment.. we sadly weren’t fully prepared so gave it a miss… but there’s always a next time!
The girls enjoyed the treasure hunt and GPS clues on the top of the mountain, and we barely paused for food (which is plentiful via the mountain top cafe with a terrace to die for!). I’d heard the food gets better in the evening too… so maybe a dusk trip might be worth the money!
