Heading for Camping Stobreč in Split….. (as the birthday celebrations continue!)
To say she’s a lucky girl is an understatement, as there were so many birthday pictures we couldn’t get them all into our blog article about ‘Birthdays, Treasure Hunts & Snorkelling at Trogir’…. But we’ve now headed off to enjoy Split and a brief stay at the impressive Camping Stobreč… Yet another great beach side campsite with plenty of facilities to occupy the kids!
We were so keen to see Split having missed it during our Croatian Adventures in 2016…. as we’d heard it was a city like no other in Europe… a city centre that houses about 3,000 residents crammed into the old imperial palace… A ‘World Heritage Site’ that buzzes with atmosphere and the hustle and bustle of everyday modern life... We can’t wait to see it tomorrow
But first of all, we had important business!! A 9th birthday cake (complete with candles) to be blown out and eaten… and a campsite to be well and truly explored by 4 energetic kids on a mission to explore everywhere!
So what is there at Camping Stobreč to enjoy? Well firstly, it’s an ACSI site so there’s an out of season discount (for any newbie motorhomers reading this, the credit card sized ACSI card is a useful card that sees stays reduced to €11 ,13 ,15 ,17 ,19 across a wide range of sites across Europe)

The shower block is well laid out and has lots of useful areas… in fact you need to sign in via the wristband you get given before each stay… it limits the kids to 7mins in the shower which is perfect!!! (3 showers a day is the limit…. we’re lucky to get them in once a day!!)
The kids loved the spacious campsite and pretty much spent the entire afternoon either playing on the swings & slides in the kids playground (see above picture) or back at the pitch… This time playing a mix of games from volleyball matches, french cricket and football…. So there’s plenty of space and even some great new neighbours to chat with…
Every campsite should have Something special
Over the course of an afternoon and sociable evening, we let the kids enjoy some down time whilst we all got to know Dylan & Jess (in their motorhome above). Two fellow teachers over from Australia about to head off for 7months across Europe! We always reckon it’s the best bit about travelling, meeting new people and hearing about their adventures, so we’re looking forward to catching up again Dubrovnik later this week for some sea kayaking (but not until after we’ve visited Split and they’ve sampled what Sarajevo has to offer)
