Bringing our ‘Taste of France – Part A’ to an end…

Having covered over 2,500 miles… in over 68hrs of driving… over 38 days…. France has been a great leg of our European RoadTrip..We knew this would be an interesting addition to a year that has so far concentrated on just the four of us… on a trip across 26 European countries and counting…

Yet this trip would differ as we intended to do a section with Catherine’s parents… a real ‘multigenerational’ holiday! We’d loved the planning of the trip beforehand, but relished every second of our chance to spend our first night’s away from the motorhome in the rented gite in the Gironde (as part of this leg of our adventure).
But we’d equally enjoyed the opportunity to see the stunning sites of the Loire, Dordogne and Creuse valleys in our motorhome… enjoyed some summer sun on the beaches of the Gironde & Ile de Re.. and plenty more in between.

The final destination on the journey north was ‘Pont-de-l’Arche’ … just outside of Rouen. It makes a perfect stop for those travelling south from Calais… and has the most amazing riverside aire along the River Seine… and has some interesting architecture to match the quality of it’s wonderful boulangerie!!

AAs ever, we’ll add the full map of the journey to our normal ‘Previous Trips‘ page so that others can see the route we chose, plus the various family adventures and experiences we had enroute… (all easily accessible via the interactive map)

So now it’s time to visit friends/family in the UK, enjoy some time in the UK before starting ‘Part B’ of our France Adventure in early September… so much more to see, we really can’t wait!!! This time we’ll be joined by Richard’s parents on their first trip onto the continent in their newly purchased motorhome…  we can’t wait!! (nor can both girls!!)
