Aufenfeld | Celebrating Lottie’s Birthday with a Cake!
Having enjoyed the beauty of Croatia (Trogir) where we celebrated Libby’s Birthday with the Banks Family. The chance to head little south of York to enjoy some quality time with the grandparents and cousins had been eagerly anticipated all week….. especially after a busy week of road schooling around York’s Medieval, Viking and Archaeological experiences
The talk in the van all week centred on Lottie’s camera cake from last year and how could we beat it this year? In fact, ever since we started the Bakery Blogs…. baking has become an obsession for the girls… They love any chance to plan another cake, scone, biscuit or bread….. So when you add in Catherine spending evenings this week trying to think of a new idea.. We eventually settled on a Austrian inspired design from our recent stay at Leading Camping’s Camping Aufenfeld….. A campsite with a truly fantastic outdoor lake surrounded by towering Austrian mountains with two beautiful wooden boardwalks that both girls loved jumping off….
But today was all about a chance to enjoy spending time together as a family and celebrating Lottie’s birthday…. plenty of presents, a meal out and then a chance to enjoy a sleepover with her cousins…
It’s frightening to see Lottie now standing almost as tall as her Mum as she cuts the cake… and Libby standing over a head shorter…. must be a growth spurt!!
