Following a fairly uneventful morning, in which nothing much happened , bar writing diaries, filling up with water, washing etc etc...... We fixed a coffee machine kindly offered to us by the site manager... This Bosch Tassimo machine is pretty much brand new but had never worked.... well the combined efforts of the older generation succeeded in fixing the electrical motherboard, replumbed in the hoses and solved the electric gremlins..... so he gifted it to us for free!!!!! Can't wait for breakfast tomorrow!!!
But the main focus for today was a visit to the Muslim quarter of Grenada, with supposedly stunning views of Alhambra and a distinctly Moroccan feel.... Well it certainly didn't disappoint!
The bus ride through windy, cobbled street was something else.... with wonderful views of bridges, buskers and small shops!!! It was highly atmospheric, but nothing had prepared us for the site of people camped out waiting for the sunset over Alhambra...
Well, since we had made the effort it seemed rude not to enjoy tapas and a table with a view!!! Which we certainly did even adding to our growing list of new friends since the journey started. Helen, Margot and Haruka were brilliant with the girls and we thoroughly enjoyed a chance to chat in different languages and generally enjoy a wonderful evening together... Helen even kindly gave us each a present - small Moroccan trinkets for the girls and Catherine and wind chime for the van.... We will treasure these!
With darkness upon us, we headed back down the hill from Albaicin and into the almost 'souk' like back streets. We stumbled upon an authentic tea shop and sampled the incredibly sweet crepes, pastries and mint tea.... before passing back via the closing shops in Grenada and the stunning Cathedral...
With snow having fallen 2 days ago, the mountain road will be fun tomorrow... perhaps tomorrow's blog will carry pictures of us skiing....
More pictures and videos are below on our frequently updated twitter site.... hope you enjoy these too...
