For those kind people who've left comments to check up on how we are, thank you and this one is for you.....But don't worry we're still alive and kicking and ready for our next adventure. It's just we've been hugely fortunate to head in and out of Europe for so long without having to return for work, family or mechanical difficulties.... but like everything the luck had to end and it's been an extended period back in the UK trying to help out our families who needed us....
Although the last 21 days has seen'LifeinourVan' temporarily become 'LifeinaHouse'... there's still been plenty going on... so with us finally heading out for Leg 12 'French Adventures - Part 2', here's a quick recap of what we've go up to in the UK
ADDING TO OUR WEBSITE....
This roadtrip we're on has been jam packed full of shared learning experiences and time together as a family since Sept 2015 (just check out our 'Top 10 Roadtrip Highlights' blog) But we'd always previously struggled to show people how the trip has unfolded... but we're really pleased to say we've now fixed that and hope you enjoy the interactive maps above.... Plus we've also spent a huge amount of time updating our 'Previous European Trips/Routes', 'Top 50 Campsites' and 'Family Adventures' pages too...So we really hope you enjoy checking these new pages out.
BECOMING A GODMOTHER..
Our girls love their godparents and are always begging us to ensure we get some time with them (whether it's cycling in England, spending time at their houses or even trying their hands on their farms)... so when Catherine got the chance to become Angus' godmother, she leapt at the chance so our first few days were spent enjoying a fantastic christening weekend in rural Wiltshire.
GETTING ACTIVE IN PINNER
Having spent most of the time in Pinner, we've found more to do yet again in this 'fringe' London village.... to the North West of London...(see our treasure hunt here).. with the girl's loving the chance to grab a 'Shaketastic' smoothie before heading into Pinner Park for rollerblading afternoons (after morning 'homeschooling' lessons!!!)
MAKE DO AND MEND....
CATCHING UP WITH THE GRASS...
Probably our least favourite 'return to the UK' job is cutting the grass... especially when it resembles a meadow... but it's got to get done sometime!!!
At least we managed to get out and see a little bit more of the early summer sunshine elsewhere in the North of England too..
SOME ENJOYABLE ROADSCHOOLING...
Although we love the opportunity to show our girls new experiences across Europe.... some times we do lack the ability to use books, play educational games or simple experiment with science kits whilst on the road.... So like every style education, 'RoadSchooling' has it's positives and negatives... Although this is one of them, we've been delighted to use the time in the UK to try and expand on topics /subjects we've seen whilst travelling across Europe..
MEETING UP WITH THE 5th MEMBER OF OUR FAMILY...
So with our work done back in the UK, we now can't wait to get back into the van and see what else France can offer us...
So if you've missed our previous trips and are heading to France too soon... maybe these pages below might help with a few ideas
