After the gruelling day yesterday as we grasped every last drop out of our visit to Ronda, we moved slowly from ‘Camping el Sur’ (lovely campsite, great service).
We headed west on the picturesque road to Zahara de la Sierra. This beautiful road took us into the breath takingly beautiful Parque Natural Sierra de Grazalema….. this was one of the highlights of the trip and certainly one of the hardest to traverse….
Thankfully the views more than made up for this experience, although I’d recommend that motorhomers consider the descent in Zahara de la Sierra. A near vertical cobbled street was certainly something that had our fullest of attentions…..
So onto the major passes in the Parque before heading further west to the larger than anticipated Arcos de la Frontera. Sadly this stunning site looked impressive from the side, but perhaps did not match up to Ronda’s timeless elegance.. we passed through quicker than expected towards Cadiz…. although a short stop at the Carrefour saw us emerge with two new cameras for the girls!!! (their blog needed these apparently... not one to step on the creative intent, we relented!!)
Having been tipped the wink by Richard, we headed towards the port and Puerto de Santa Maria…. this delightful campsite soon became the girl’s favourite as they met up with two lovely young children and headed off on their bikes to explore. Probably one of our highlights too, as this was great to see them so happy meeting new friends…
So Cadiz and a short 20mins ferry ride awaits tomorrow before we head north to Seville…..
(PS The Bullring at Ronda responded, and I have now completed the paperwork….. we wait with bated breath for their response!)
