Perhaps the one aspect of travelling that can sometimes be harder than all others... Is the fact you do miss your real friends. New views and experiences can quench some of that thirst.... but nothing beats the chance to either make new friends or meet old friends.
Our 'European Roadtrip' has given us both chance to catch up with old friends (just look for posts on Woodbridge, Sandbanks & Dunstable Downs to name but a few)... or the chance to make brand news its of friends (like our NZ friends from Cadiz, The Banks Family or all our new friends at La Marina)
But we were lucky to meet another brilliant family last November in La Marina. Who immediately understood why we wanted to undertake this Family European Roadtrip. In fact Daniel and Verena's passion for travel seemed endless as we spent evenings discussing and comparing our travels before children... but they're especially brave as they intend to continue travelling with young Henry (you can find out more here on their website 'BackpackingBaby'
So we jumped at the chance to meet them back in their native country of Germany following our travels through Belgium. So Cologne is the next destination for us as a family, and a chance to spend a wonderful day walking along the banks of the Rhine before returning back to their flat to spend some time together.
It'll be a busy, busy day tomorrow as we search for the elusive ELV (emissions sticker) and then bike ride into Rhine... we can't wait to see just what makes Cologne so special
